CAMP SHOSHANAH PHOTOS - 1986
| Ariel Ministries runs the Ariel Summer School of Messianic Studies at their Shoshanah Campus, over 500 acres in the Adirondack Mountains of northern New York State. The program was founded by Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum, and from 1974 thru 2018 was simply called 'Camp Shoshanah'. This page contains photos of the Camp Shoshanah 1986 program. While the main purpose of Camp is the study of the Scriptures from the original Jewish frame of reference, we always manage to have a lot of Kosher fun, and these photos mainly show the fun. - and, some captions may have a hint of fiction & whimsy to make you smile. |

On Thursday evenings there was an open Bible Question session after
the last class, that started in the early 1980's . After awhile, an
impertinent young fellow from Brooklyn came up with the title: "STUMP THE FRUCHT" and it stuck for many years. The artwork above and AGF sitting on a stump while answering questions were entirely the work of students with too much time on their hands. |
Thursday evening was the time for lots of Shabbos
Challah baking by Deb B, and that went on every Thursday evening for 3 weeks,
every year from 1980 thru 1987. Mary Ann Fruchtenbaum took lessons from Deb in
1986, and Barry Leventhal was hoping
to get an early sample. Eventually Mary Ann threatened to call security if he
came any closer. Wisely, the Doctor backed off.
After losing to Marlene, an embarrassed Troy
promised: "That's the last time I'll say Girls can't arm wrestle"
