CAMP SHOSHANAH PHOTOS - 1990

This page contains photos of the Camp Shoshanah Messianic Bible Study Camp taken during 1990.  While the main purpose of Camp is the study of the Scriptures from a Messianic Jewish frame of reference, we always manage to have a lot of Kosher fun, and these photos mainly show the fun!
- These photos were taken before the construction of the current Lecture Hall in 1996, and the new Dining Hall in 2013. In 1990 all classes, meals and fellowship were in the one old main building, which had been added onto, at both ends over the years.

Dr. Barry Leventhal is a Jewish believer in Messiah Jesus and has taught for various years at Camp Shoshanah

The Kids are practicing their skit for talent night in the children's class cabin. Notice the Hebrew 'Alef-Beit' on the blackboard,
they were learning their Hebrew letters, but two of them had an advantage because they were born in Jerusalem.

Louis Lapides is a Jewish believer in Messiah Yeshua and founded a Messianic Congregation in California. Here he teaches on the
Hebrew meaning of Isaiah 9:6, the Hebrew text on the chalkboard using Hebrew script characters instead of block letters, since in
1990 about half of the students were Jewish and learned the script form in Jewish schools.

Messianic Rabbi Milton Maimon chants the Hebrew Motzi blessing over the Shabbos Challah. Milt & his wife Lura were a core part of Camp for years.

It's good to show cute kids having fun, so providentially (if you're a Calvinist), or by their own free will (if you're Arminian),  these kids
showed up at the Camp Shoshanah dock as your Editor had his Pentax 35mm film camera ready. Make your own Kodak moment at Camp Shoshanah!

What the fashionably well dressed wore at Camp Shoshanah 1990. Note:

- Tzitzit attached to long shirt
- Daily Food Menu on cork board
- Old School Soda Pop opener on wall
- Children's program artwork on wall
- Regular socks worn with flip-flops

The name Fruchtenbaum means "Fruit Tree"

(hmm, someone should tell Arnold that grapes grow on vines)

Nice Jewish boys, their Mothers told them so.
